Biography
Dušan Vasiljević is a Director for Competitiveness and Investments at the NALED – Serbia’s leading private-public association and a think-tank established in 2006. His fields of professional interest include property taxation, construction permitting and the real estate registration. Dr. Vasiljevic served for several years in the Government’s Joint Group for Improving Serbia’s Competitiveness that coordinated activities seeing unprecedented improvement of Serbia on the World Bank’s Doing Business list.
Dr. Vasiljevic has been leading regulatory reforms in the areas of economic development and public administration since 2001. From 2018 to 2019 he was a senior expert in business legislation for the Serbia Investment Climate Project implemented by World Bank Group’s IFC. Prior to that, he was a Business Regulation and Economic Governance Director in USAID Business Enabling Project (USAID BEP), and Deputy Chief of Party for the same project.
Dušan holds a PhD degree in economics from FEFA and a magister degree in public policy and public administration and BA in international relations from the University of Belgrade’s Faculty of Political Sciences. He was a Visiting Fellow at the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy from Boston, USA, and an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences. His books and papers were published in Serbian, English and Spanish.
